Hello there! My name is Sam Henley, your friendly neighborhood tobacco expert. I’ve spent the last 30 years working in the rich and diverse world of tobacco, holding my expertise close to heart as I navigate the ins and outs of this intriguing industry.

My professional journey began at British American Tobacco, where I started as a Junior Agronomist, guiding the growth and harvesting of the finest quality tobacco leaves. After gaining invaluable field experience, I took my skills to the boardroom of Philip Morris International. Here, I spent a decade as the Director of Quality Control, ensuring the world-class standard of our products.

Then, I embarked on an exciting venture with the innovative Swedish Match. Here, I pioneered strategies that drove the production of high-quality, reduced harm, smokeless tobacco products. I can’t tell you how rewarding it was to find a balance between catering to our customer’s preferences and prioritizing their health.

Over the years, my contributions to the industry have been recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Golden Leaf Award for my commitment to quality and the International Tobacco Grower’s Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Currently, I’m residing in beautiful North Carolina, USA, the heartland of tobacco in America. Surrounded by golden fields of tobacco, it’s an idyllic place that’s enriched my understanding of this versatile plant and its many uses.

When I’m not working, I’m a bit of a history buff. I love learning about different cultures and their use of tobacco throughout the centuries. I also dabble in gardening, growing a few tobacco plants of my own, just for the sheer love of the plant.
